Common Configuration Tasks

Basic unit information, data point settings, viewing, and updating tasks that are similar for all unit types include the following:

You must have Admin user permission to edit unit data. See your system administrator or refer to Unit Group Security for more information.

View or Change Data Point Info or Settings — data points - or AUX data - are settings for the unit's other inputs, such as battery, radio, or meter readings These types of settings differ for different unit types but usually can be configured using similar setting fields.
General Unit Information Settings — units can be set up with information that pertains to its ID, name, facility ID, time zone, service status, or cost center. Also refer to Common Unit Information Links for more information on the other unit information listed under the Unit Info link.
General Unit Data Point Info Settings — includes the field definitions for these general settings.
Data Point Display As Options — includes the definitions for each of the Display As field options.
Working with Templates — how to use templates to easily configure similar units.
Send Settings — available for units that can receive over-the-air commands.
Replace a Unit — replace a unit of similar configuration with another unit.
Battery Settings — includes settings for a battery install date and battery type.
