Peripheral Devices

CartoPac Mobile can be used with a variety of peripheral devices, such as a Geode GPS receiver or the CR2600 barcode reader.

Most peripheral devices connect with CartoPac Mobile through Bluetooth.

Before connecting peripheral devices through Bluetooth, you will need to set up your mobile device for connection, including NMEA driver output sentences and Bluetooth settings.

Many GPS receivers support the use of the NMEA driver but may have different settings for the following options:

  • Pairing Codes

  • Default NMEA Sentences

  • Default COM Port

Because these settings vary from device to device, GPS receivers often come with a Windows Desktop Configuration App that communicates with the GPS receiver and displays current settings. You may also be able to modify the settings through the app.

Also refer to any user documentation provided by a specific GPS receiver configuration application for additional information.
