CI Survey Keyboard Shortcuts

The following shortcuts can be used in the CI Survey module of the PCS Field Data Collector app.

Refer to Overview of the Allegro AX Hardware for location of the Allegro AX keys.

The shortcuts can be used with the Allegro AX or on the Mesa 3 if you are using the external keyboard.

CI Survey Keyboard Shortcuts
Function	Shortcut	Description
Capture Reading	Enter	Captures a reading. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted.
Save Survey	Ctrl-S	Saves the survey file. Available from the main grid view (where the survey is conducted).
Insert Flag Marker	F	Insert flag marker in flagged mode. where you want to set the flag marker is selected. Press F when the desired row Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in Flagged mode.
Reset Flag Count	Ctrl-F	Resets the flag count.
Go To Record or Insert Record	Ctrl-G or F2 NOTE: If using the Mesa 3 external keyboard, press the orange key to activate F1-F10 function keys.	Opens the Records Options window (). Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in Flagged mode. Refer to Work with Survey Records for more information.
Delete a Record	Ctrl-Del	Opens the Records Options window with the cursor in the Delete text field. Refer to Work with Survey Records for more information. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted.
Gap Marker	G	Insert gap marker: flagged mode. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: This shortcut is used to set or start the gap. The focus needs to be placed in that specific row on the grid. Use the same shortcut key, <G>, to end the gap. You must select the row where the gap ends. Note: Only available when survey is configured in Flagged mode.
Open Test Points Info Window	Ctrl-T	Opens the Test Points Info window. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in the Fixed Increment mode. Refer to Add Test Point Information for more information.
Pause or Resume	Ctrl-P or F5 NOTE: If using the Mesa 3 external keyboard, press the orange key to activate F1-F10 function keys.	Pauses or resumes timed readings. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted.
Skip a Distance	Ctrl-K	Open the Windows Options window to the Skip option. Once a distance is entered, will move to that distance. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in the Fixed Increment mode. Refer to Work with Survey Records for more information.
Skip	Ctrl-Z or F3 NOTE: If using the Mesa 3 external keyboard, press the orange key to activate F1-F10 function keys.	Toggles the Skip function in the Fixed Increment mode. While in normal mode, press Ctrl-Z or F3 to switch to Skip mode. The display at the bottom of the screen will show (Skip) while in this mode, and (Skip) is entered for every Reading taken while in this mode. Press Ctrl-Z or F3 again to return to normal mode. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in the Fixed Increment mode.
Lock	Ctrl-L	Toggles the Lock function in the Fixed Increment mode. While in normal mode, press Ctrl-L to switch to Lock mode. The display at the bottom of the screen with show (Lock), and no readings will be taken. Press Ctrl-L again to return to normal mode. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in the Fixed Increment mode.
Open Existing Survey	Ctrl-O	Open list of existing surveys. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Refer to Open a Survey for more information.
Open New Survey	Ctrl-N	Opens Survey Properties window. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Refer to Create a New Survey and Set Survey Properties for more information.
Add or Edit Remark	Alt-R or F4 NOTE: If using the Mesa 3 external keyboard, press the orange key to activate F1-F10 function keys.	Opens the Edit Remark window () Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in the Fixed Increment mode.
Toggle Between List View and Single Record view	Alt-L	Toggles the view from Single Records View to List View or from List View to Single Records View. Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Note: Only available when survey is configured in Flagged mode.
File Menu	Alt-F	Opens Mobile Survey (file ) menu. Refer to Set Survey Properties and Create a New Surveyfor more information.
View Menu	Alt-V	Opens View window (). Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted.
Records Menu	Alt-M	Opens Records Options window () Available from the main grid view where the survey is conducted. Refer to Work with Survey Records for more information.
