Imagery Studio

For imagery to be properly processed, the following prerequisites must be met:

  1. Input imagery must be file types TIFF or JPGwith accompanying world files (.tfw, .jgw). MrSid files are acceptable if they are small and not needing any re-projection or sub-sampling may be processed directly by Imagery studio. Otherwise, these should be exported to TIFF files.

  2. The datum for the imagery must be either WGS84 (preferred choice) or NAD83.

  3. The projection for the imagery must be UTM and the zone number known (State Plane is not supported).

  4. File sizes can be up to 2GB (this is the largest tested size, there is currently no known upper limit). For best results, multiple image sets should be a mosaic of one large file.

If the raw imagery is very large and needs to be tiled down to size, and is in lat/long coordinates, it is best to re-project the imagery to UTM before tiling it down to size (tiling lat/long imagery then re-projecting to UTM can cause black slivers in the imagery when processed).
