Map Services

The Map Services tab on the Map and Esri Service Administration page supports integration with ArcGIS Feature Services (Map Services with Feature Access enabled). A map service connection in CartoPac Server defines how ArcGIS Data is viewed and edited in the CartoPac Web Application (refer to Web Application Administration for more information).

Map and Esri Service Administration - Map Services Tab

CartoPac Server may be integrated with ArcGIS Server Feature Services (Map Services with Feature Access Enabled).

After connecting to an ArcGIS Feature Service, you can configure Map Service Layers or Attributes.

Map Service Layers may be configured with:

  • Inquirability — a feature may be selected to display the Attribute Inspector when selected in the Web Map.

  • Data Visibility — a feature's data may be configured to be visible to specific users or roles.

  • Data Editability — a feature's data may be configured to be editable to specific users or roles.

  • Attachment Functionality — A feature may be related to an Attachment table to display Pictures and documents in the Web Application.

Attributes may be individually configured as:

  • Visible — attributes may be hidden or displayed in the Attribute Inspector when inquiring a specific record by clicking it in the Web Map.

  • Editable — an editable attribute may be edited in the Web Application after being Uploaded with CartoPac Mobile Software.

  • Required — a required attribute will not allow a null (blank) value to be saved when editing the data for a record.

  • Drop-down Controls — an attribute configured as a drop-down control displays a list of values from an Externally Referenced Lookup Table.
