Enable use of DNS Names in Real Time Correction Setting

Version 10.0 of CartoPac has been updated to allow the resolution of DNS names for use in Real Time Correction settings. Prior to this update, CartoPac Touch and Tablet required input of an IP address and not a DNS name (URL). IP addresses can still be used if the real time service does not have a DNS entry

Enabling use of DNS Names for real time correction services improves the CartoPac user experience and reduces the risk of an IP address change.

This change applies to CartoPac Touch and Tablet. CartoPac iOS already supported this functionality.

Server Administrators- As necessary, update the Option Sets for your specific GNSS Driver to use a URL instead of a IP address. Option set for Real Time settings found at: Option Set > Program Config > Subsystem (GPS) > Hardware Drivers > [Select Correct Driver] > Option Group (DGPS) > Option Group (ExternalInternet) > Option (URL)

Field Users- No update necessary to use this functionality, note that users can use the URL for real time corrections instead of an IP address if available.
