CartoPac Tablet and Integrated GNSS Receivers

In Windows 8, COM ports cannot be used with most internal GNSS receivers. For this reason, CartoPac Mobile supports a Windows 8 Integrated GNSS Driver called Location Services.

Complete the following steps to enable Location Services for the internal GNSS receivers:

  1. Ensure that the location privacy setting allows Windows and Apps to use the Location Services driver.

  2. Turn mobile broadband ON.

    Because the mobile broadband card and GNSS Card are one and the same, the mobile broadband card must be enabled in order for Location Services to use the GNSS card.

  3. Turn WiFi OFF (Optional).

    WiFi may decrease the performance in acquiring satellite locks when on, but does not have to be disabled.
