MicroMax GPS300 and GPS350 Firmware Upgrade

All MicroMax GPS300 and GPS350 interrupters currently using firmware versions below v1.07 will not interrupt after April 6, 2019, due to an issue with interpreting GPS data. If you have a MicroMax GPS300 or GPS350 interrupter that was purchased before November 19, 2018, you must upgrade to firmware v1.07 before April 6, 2019, to ensure correct operation of your interrupter. If a device is not updated by April 6, 2019, and the device is scheduled to interrupt, it will appear as if it is functioning normally, but it will not actually interrupt because it does not have the correct synchronization to GPS clock.

To see what firmware version is currently on an interrupter, power on your unit. The current firmware version displays on the LCD screen when the unit is first powered on.

This issue does not affect GPS360 units.

Complete the following steps to update your GPS300 or GPS350 interrupter:

  1. In a browser, open the MicroMax Downloads page and click the GPS300 and GPS350 Firmware link to download firmware v1.07. The same firmware file is used for both MicroMax GPS300 and GPS350 interrupters. The file name is GPS300.bhf.

  2. Open Bullhorn Tools. Or go to the Bullhorn Tools Launch page and click Launch to download the most current version of Bullhorn Tools. Double-click the setup.exe to install. If prompted to run the file, click Run.

  3. Connect your GPS300 or GPS350 interrupter to your PC using a USB to mini-USB cable.

  4. Once the unit is recognized through Bullhorn Tools, click the name of the unit to select it and then click Connect.

  5. In Bullhorn Tools, click the Action menu and then Upgrade Firmware. Click Browse and navigate to the directory where the file was downloaded (such as the Downloads folder). Select the file (GPS300.bhf) and click Open.

  6. Click Send. The firmware upgrade takes a few minutes. Do not disconnect the unit while the upgrade is in progress.

  7. After the upgrade process completes, you can verify that the firmware was successfully installed by power cycling the unit (disconnect the mini-USB cable from the unit and then reconnect the cable). The firmware version will be displayed on the splash screen.
