RM510C/RM510S Hardware Overview

RM5 Seriesremote monitoring units are intended for use in cathodic protection applications. RM510C/RM510S units measure the output of rectifier current across shunt resistors and support GPS synchronized current interruption.

Synchronized current interruption requires an RM5 I/O 4 module and installation of a relay, such as the American InnovationsREL2510 Solid State Relay.

Components of RM510C/RM510S units include:

  • RM5 Series Dome - supports two-way communication with Bullhorn Web over a cellular (RM510C) or satellite (RM510S) network. Supports GPS synchronized current interruption. The dome enclosure meets the IP65 standard.

  • RM5 I/O 4 Module - reads rectifier amperage and volts and provides control output for a relay. Includes four analog and two digital input channels with the following specifications:

    • Input channels 1, 2, 3, and 4: support analog (±150 V DC, 150V AC).

    • Input channels 5 and 6: support digital (0 - 24 V DC).

  • RM5 Power Supply - converts 10-42 V AC to 12 V DC to power the unit.

RM510C/RM510S units ship with an installed Lithium-ion backup battery, M8 communication cable, mounting bracket, and other materials necessary for installation.
