Windows Permissions Required by PCS Field Data Collector

PCS Field Data Collector requires the following windows permissions in order to function:

• Wifi - wifi is required to log into the app. The app must be able to reach the following domains:

  • https://api-auth.aiworldwide.com/

  • https://api-cp2.aiworldwide.com/

  • https://www.aiworldwide.com/privacy-policy/

• Location - location services are required for the following features:

  • Provide GPS data for surveys

  • Enable Bearing to Site

  • Enable turn by turn navigation

  • Provide current location on Maps

  • Capturing data for the Location prompt in Periodic Survey

  PCS Field Data Collector will run without location permission, but these features will not operate.

• Bluetooth - bluetooth is required to scan for and connect to peripheral devices:

  Windows users must enable Advanced Bluetooth Settings in Windows to connect to the Geode.

  • DVM2130 Digital Voltmeter

  • Mesa Geode external GPS

  Most survey modules require one or more of these peripherals.

• Camera - camera access is required to capture images in the Periodic Survey module

• Storage - storage is not a specific permission in Windows, however the app requires Full permission to the app package folder.

  • This folder is typically at C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\com.aiworldwide.aim_fhj61jcsknp6j\LocalState

  The app is not guaranteed to work without this access.
