Once a form object is added to the form, its properties can be set in the Properties pane. The Properties pane allows access to changing the text content and style, the border and fill of the object and/or the text field, the source of a grid or image, and the tab details. Depending on the control, some properties may not be available.
To edit a form object's properties, select a form object and in the Properties pane, modify the following properties, if available:
Caption properties — Caption properties determine the text that should appear in the form object, whether it's alongside a field or as its own label.
Caption — Enter text in the Caption text field. The text in the form object updates to match the entered text.
Show Caption — Click to select the Show Caption check box to display the text entered in the Caption text field next to the data field. Click to clear the Show Caption check box to not show accompanying text.
Border and Fill properties — Border and Fill properties alter the look of the entire form object's border and background.
Back Color — To change the background color of the form object, select the Back Color dropdown. A grid of available and standard colors appears. Select a color from the grid or click to switch to the custom color selector and create a custom color by doing any of the following:
Select a color with the color slider and color field.
Enter a hexadecimal value in the field provided.
Enter the specific Red (R), Green (G), Blue (B), and Alpha (A) values in the fields provided.
Use the sliders to modify the RGBA values.
Border Thickness — To change the thickness of the border around the form object, enter a value in the Border Thickness text field, according to the following rules:
To set a simple border of uniform thickness around the entire control, enter a single number.
To set a border whose thickness on the top and bottom are the same and the left and right are the same, enter the left/right thickness followed by a comma and the top/right thickness.
To set a border whose thickness varies on each side of the control, enter each border's thickness followed by a comma in the following order: right, top, left, bottom.
Border Brush — To change the color of the form object's border, select the Border Brush dropdown. A grid of available and standard colors appears. Select a color from the grid or click to switch to the custom color selector and create a custom color by doing any of the following:
Select a color with the color slider and color field.
Enter a hexadecimal value in the field provided.
Enter the specific Red (R), Green (G), Blue (B), and Alpha (A) values in the fields provided.
Use the sliders to modify the RGBA values.
Corner Radius — To change how round a border's corner is, enter a value in the Corner Radius field or click or
next to the text field. To create a more rounded corner, enter a higher value in the field. To create a square corner, enter 0 in the field.
Draw Border — To show a border around the form object, click to select the Draw Border check box.
Padding — To control the amount of space between the form object's contents and the border, enter a value in the Padding field.
Grid properties — Grid properties dictate the display of the mini-grid data.
Grid Source. To determine which mini-grid data appears in the control, select a mini-grid from the Grid Source dropdown.
Image properties — Image properties modify the display of an image in the picture control. Images smaller than 10MB can be loaded into the image control. For optimal performance, however, images larger than 200KB should not be used.
Source — To fill the control with an image, hover the mouse over the picture placeholder in the Source property. The source menu appears.

Do one of the following to fill the control with an image:
To load an image file into the picture control, click and navigate to the desired image file. Click to select the image file and click OK.
To paste a copied image into the picture control, click . The contents of the clipboard are pasted into the picture control.
Do one of the following to clear the picture control or reuse the image elsewhere:
To clear the image from the picture control, click . The current image is removed from the picture control.
To copy the image for use in other picture controls or to paste in other applications, click . The image is copied to the clipboard.
To copy the image and clear it from the picture control, click . The image is copied to the clipboard and cleared from the control.
To save the image to file, click and navigate to the desired save location. Enter a name for the image file in the field provided, select a file type from the dropdown, and click Save. The picture is saved as an image file.
Stretch — To determine how an image fills the picture control, select an option from the Stretch dropdown. The following options are available:
None: The image is not resized within the control.
Fill: The image is resized to fill the control.
Uniform: The image is resized to fit within the control's edges while maintaining its original aspect ratio.
Uniform to Fill: The image is resized to fill the control while maintaining its original aspect ratio. If necessary, the image is clipped to fit within the control's edges.
Tab properties — Tab properties allow you to add, remove, and rename tabs in a tab control, as well as change the overall look of the tabs.
Selected Tab Caption — To rename a tab in the tab control, click to select a tab and enter a new name in the Selected Tab Caption text field.
Selected Tab Item — To select a tab for editing, select the name from the Selected Tab Item dropdown or click the tab's name to select the tab. The tab control updates to show the selected tab's contents.
Tab Count — To change the number of tabs in the tab control, enter the desired number of tabs in the Tab Count text field or click or
next to the Tab Count text field. The tab control adds or removes tabs as necessary to match the number of tabs in the Tab Count text field.
Tab Item Header Back Color — To change the background color of the inactive tabs, select the Tab Item Header Back Color dropdown. A grid of available and standard colors appears. Select a color from the grid or click to switch to the custom color selector and create a custom color by doing any of the following:
Select a color with the color slider and color field.
Enter a hexadecimal value in the field provided.
Enter the specific Red (R), Green (G), Blue (B), and Alpha (A) values in the fields provided.
Use the sliders to modify the RGBA values.
Mouse Over Color — To change the color of the tab when the mouse is hovered over the tab, select the Mouse Over Color dropdown. A grid of available and standard colors appears. Select a color from the grid or click to switch to the custom color selector and create a custom color by doing any of the following:
Select a color with the color slider and color field.
Enter a hexadecimal value in the field provided.
Enter the specific Red (R), Green (G), Blue (B), and Alpha (A) values in the fields provided.
Use the sliders to modify the RGBA values.
Font properties — Font properties change the display of all text in the form object, including the caption and text field contents.
Font Bold — To apply a bold style to all text in the form object, click to select the Font Bold check box. Click to clear the check box to remove the bold style from the text.
Font Name — To change the font family, select a font from the Font Name dropdown. All text in the current form object updates to use the selected font.
Font Size — To change the size of the text in the form object, enter a value in the Font Size text field or click or
next to the field. The size of the text in the form object adjusts accordingly.
Fore Color — To change the color of the text in the form object, select the Fore Color dropdown. A grid of available and standard colors appears. Select a color from the grid or click to switch to the custom color selector and create a custom color by doing any of the following:
Select a color with the color slider and color field.
Enter a hexadecimal value in the field provided.
Enter the specific Red (R), Green (G), Blue (B), and Alpha (A) values in the fields provided.
Use the sliders to modify the RGBA values.
Italic — To apply an italic style to all text in the form object, click to select the Italic check box. Click to clear the check box to remove the italic style from the text.
Underlined — To underline all text in the form object, click to select the Underline check box. Click to clear the check box to remove the underline from the text.
Text Field properties — Text field properties modify the look of the input text field or text box.
Input Border Brush — To change the color of the border around the text field, select the Input Border Brush dropdown. A grid of available and standard colors appears. Select a color from the grid or click to switch to the custom color selector and create a custom color by doing any of the following:
Select a color with the color slider and color field.
Enter a hexadecimal value in the field provided.
Enter the specific Red (R), Green (G), Blue (B), and Alpha (A) values in the fields provided.

Input Border Thickness — To change the thickness of the border around the text field, enter a value in the Input Border Thickness text field, according to the following rules:

Input Orientation — To align the text field box with the caption horizontally or vertically, select either Horizontal or Vertical in the Input Orientation dropdown. Depending on the orientation chosen, the text field moves to the right of or below the caption, respectively.
List Orientation — To display the list options for multi-select picklist items horizontally or vertically, select either Horizontal or Vertical in the List Orientation dropdown. Depending on the orientation chosen, the list items in the picklist will be shown horizontally or vertically.
Use Editor Width — To be able to resize the text field a specific size independent of the size of the form object, click to select the Use Editor Width check box. The text field will size to the width specified in the Width of Editor property and align to the right side of the form object.
Width Of Editor — To set the width of the text field, enter a value in the Width of Editor field or click or
next to the text field. The Use Editor Width property must be enabled for the width to change.
